The .nr registration is a necessary procedure for entities based in or having connections with the Republic of Nauru and planning to launch a website. As the sponsoring organization, CenpacNet plays a major role in .nr domain registration by issuing .nr domain names and managing the domain naming system. The .nr domain extension identifies individuals, companies and businesses connected with Nauru.
You can register your domain names online through CenpacNet. Local presence is not compulsory for registering this domain. There are no restrictions and no special requirements. Multiple domains are also allowed upon request. The registry offers the .nr domain names for a payment of $200.00 for a contract of two years. The registered .nr domain names should be purposeful and must not be used for illegal actions that break the government laws of Nauru.
The .nr domain names can be registered at second level or third level under various labels. Some of the sub domains available are .com.nr (commercial organization), .org.nr (for non-profit organizations like charities), .biz.nr (for business), .net.nr (internet and network related), info.nr (information), .edu.nr (only for educational institutions) and .gov.nr (for governmental agencies and ministries). The .co.nr is not included in the official domain list, but registered to those companies that need free domain names or free sub domains under .co.nr.
The .nr domain name can contain up to 63 characters including alphabets, numbers and hyphens excluding extension. The hyphen should not be included at the beginning or end of the .nr domain name. Once your domain name is successfully registered, an email is forwarded to you at the billing contact address. Your .nr domain names become active on the internet within 24 hours of the email notification.
CenpacNet has the right to refuse to register the domain name you choose. A registrant can transfer his domain name registration to any chosen third party, in accordance with the procedures and conditions CenpacNet displays on its web site. |
