Правила доменов .MT
The .mt extension is the country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for Malta. In the year 1992, IANA officially assigned the authority of this domain to the University of Malta. The University has delegated its responsibility to a committee for the purpose of registration, maintenance and promotion of .mt domain names. This committee got a formal status under the name, Malta Internet Foundation or NIC (Malta) in 1999. This organization currently has the sole responsibility for the registration, renewal, confirmation and management of .mt domain names.
The Malta Internet Foundation or NIC (Malta) permits registrants to register .mt domain names, regardless of their presence in Malta. The application request for the .mt domain registrations must meet eligibility conditions specified in the website of the official Registry. For registration, you must produce a certificate or evidence specifying your business registration in accordance with Maltese Law. When your application is accepted, you have to enter into a contract of registration and should abide by the terms and conditions set forth by the Registry. The validity of registration will be for one year. It can be extended for successive years upon a payment of renewal fees. If registrants do not wish to publish their contact details in the whois service, then this must be obviously brought to the notice of the authority during the time of registration.
The registrations of domains cannot be made directly under .mt extension. New domain registrations are allowed under one of the following second level domains:
- .com.mt — for commercial entities
- .org.mt — for non profit organization
- .net.mt — for Internet related network service providers
- .edu.mt — for educational institutions
Registrations under the .gov.mt extension are not done through NIC (Malta). Such registrations are handled by the Malta Information Technology and Training Services Ltd (MITTS).
